Remembering
Bil Talavera

Bil Talavera, yes Bil with one L. Haha he always had a way of twisting things, a way of looking at life differently, most importantly how to look at life with joy and humor. Bil was a man who would say yes to just about anything. What was beautiful about him being up for just about anything was that he never had expectations about what things should be like, he never let his own will stand in the way of the beauty that life was offering him. Today that’s a lesson I hold close to my heart. Bil was not just adventurous but courageous, courage with faith. If he dreamt it, then he believed it was possible. There was no discussion that was just “image it” it was more like “how do we make it happen” sure enough next day or so he would have the whole thing planned out. Aside from Bil’s ambitions and action he was also a man who enjoyed simple things, he loved working on and driving his old pick up truck which was manual transmission when he was capable of buying something luxurious. His mind was brilliant and his heart abundant, he had theories upon theories, he dissected situations, machines and systems, but his heart always lead him to his next venture. Most of all he loved helping people and being there for those random calls. No matter the time or place I knew my brother would be there. Bil had dreams of making films, doing comedy, making music, doing community working, & being an entrepreneur. Bil to me was already all those things, he would walk in a room and it would light up his presence and freedom was magnetic. Free, probably the best way to describe Bil. Such a young man passing away at 33, he really seemed to have this life things figured out. Un effected by world things and only lead by joy, laughter, love, family, and connecting with others. Although Bil is on his next journey, his time here on earth will continue to live on. His death is just as powerful as his life. It is my mission to highlight the essence of our brotherly relationship which was that of unconditional love, along with keeping his core traits in all I do. Bil the most amazing man I’ve ever known.
